Productivity is a Divine Directive, according to Funmi Komolade

Last Sunday marked Mother's Day, a celebration that is observed more than once a year by some Christians, highlighting the significance of mothers and their role in society.

According to the Bible, in Genesis 1 vs. 27 & 28 (KJV), God created man and woman in His own image, commanding them to be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth, thereby entrusting them with the responsibility of populating the world.

This divine command can be seen as a demonstration of God's love for humanity, as He desired to have human beings who would care for His creation and serve Him, and by creating women with the ability to bear children, God enabled them to fulfill this role.

However, life's journey can be fraught with challenges that may delay childbearing in couples, as seen in the biblical accounts of Sarah and Hannah, who became mothers after a long delay, serving as testaments to the power of faith and the possibility of miracles.

The story of Samson's parents, as recorded in Judges 13 vs. 2 & 3 (KJV), further illustrates God's awareness of the challenges faced by His people, as an angel appeared to the barren woman, promising her a son, and her obedience to the angel's instructions ultimately led to the birth of Samson.

God's promise of productivity in childbearing is also evident in Exodus 23 vs. 26, where He speaks against miscarriage and assures that the number of days will be fulfilled, allowing women to carry their babies to term.

Moreover, God's desire for multiplication is not limited to childbearing, as He also wants His people to multiply in their finances, businesses, and in spreading the gospel, with the key to fruitfulness lying in holding on to Jesus in prayer and patiently waiting for answers.

A remarkable example of God's power is the story of a 52-year-old woman who gave birth to a set of twin boys, defying medical expectations and demonstrating that with God, no one is forgotten, and even in old age, miracles can still occur.

The woman's journey to motherhood was marked by nearly two decades of marriage, during which she faced ridicule and doubt from her husband's family, who deemed her "useless" and her womb a "dry well" at the age of 50, but her husband's faith and trust in God ultimately led to the miraculous birth of their twins.

Sharing her story, the new mother of twins offers a message of hope to women waiting on the Lord, stating that she is living proof that God can remember and bless anyone, regardless of age or circumstances, and turn their "nothing" into a "mega celebration".

As a testament to God's power, the birth of Isaac, Joseph, John the Baptist, and Samson, all born to mothers who faced challenges and delays, confirms the statement by Daddy Enoch Adeboye that "special children come from closed wombs", highlighting the importance of faith and trust in God's plan.

Ultimately, the season of laughter is upon those who trust in the Lord, and as they tread on challenges, God will fill their mouths with laughter, and fear will give way to joy, as they experience the fulfillment of God's promises in their lives.
