PRESS STATEMENT BY CONCERNED NIGER DELTA YOUTHS AND STAKEHOLDERS OF THE PRESIDENTIAL AMNESTY PROGRAMME
We have noticed a malicious and anonymous publication aimed at tarnishing the image of respected Niger Delta leaders and supporters of progress, particularly Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, and Mr. Edgar Biu Daniel.
We wish to state clearly that those behind such falsehood are enemies of the Niger Delta region and enemies of progress. They are individuals who do not want to see peace, development, empowerment, and stability in the Niger Delta because of greed, envy, and selfish interests.
If they are truly confident in their allegations, why are they hiding under anonymous names and faceless groups? What is the name of their so-called group? Who is their chairman? Who are their leaders? Responsible organizations do not hide in the shadows while making serious accusations.
It is hypocritical for faceless individuals to call for accountability and transparency while they themselves remain anonymous. Credible accusations require courage, identity, and evidence—not propaganda and ghost publications.
If they are bold enough, they should come out publicly and defend what they have written with verifiable proof. Empty allegations without evidence only expose their cowardice and desperation.
We strongly reject their irresponsible call for the removal of Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, whose leadership has brought visible transformation to the Presidential Amnesty Programme. Since assuming office, the Programme has witnessed renewed focus on youth empowerment, educational opportunities, vocational training, stakeholder engagement, and a stronger commitment to peace and development in the Niger Delta.
Engr. Matthew Tonlagha is a respected son of the Niger Delta who has positively impacted many lives through philanthropy, empowerment, and community support. His track record of helping people speaks for itself, and he has no business being dragged into matters that do not concern him.
Mr. Edgar Biu Daniel has also shown commitment and professionalism in supporting progress and development. His contributions toward administrative efficiency and service are commendable.
We, the Concerned Niger Delta Youths and Stakeholders of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, warn those behind this blackmail campaign to desist immediately from their pull-him-down syndrome and politics of destruction.
Let it be known that we are aware that certain individuals are sponsoring these distractions. We are peaceful and law-abiding people, but we will no longer tolerate sustained attempts to sabotage the progress of the Programme. If they persist, we will call on the appropriate authorities to investigate and compel them to provide evidence for their claims.
We further urge the general public to disregard such publications, as they are the handiwork of enemies of progress, distractors, and opponents of the ongoing development efforts in the Niger Delta.
The Niger Delta deserves peace, growth, and sincere leadership—not bitterness and lies.
