President Tinubu administers oath of office to Taiwo Oyedele as junior finance minister

Today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will administer the oath of office to Taiwo Oyedele as the Minister of State for Finance at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, as reported by Johnbosco Agbakwuru.

Oyedele's appointment comes on the heels of his nomination by the president to fill the position left vacant by Doris Uzoka-Anite, who has been reassigned to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, her third role in the current administration.

Prior to his nomination, Oyedele chaired the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, playing a pivotal role in the efforts to revamp Nigeria's tax system.

A native of Ikaram in Akoko, Ondo State, Oyedele is a 50-year-old economist, accountant, and public policy expert with a distinguished background.

He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

Oyedele has also expanded his expertise through executive education programmes at prominent institutions, including the London School of Economics, Yale University, Gordon Institute of Business Science, and the Harvard Kennedy School.

His professional career spans 22 years at PwC, where he joined in 2001 and progressed to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Oyedele serves as a professor at Babcock University in Ogun State and holds a position as a visiting scholar at the Lagos Business School.
