PDP Expels Wike, Anyanwu, Fayose, Others for Anti-Party Activities at 2025 National Convention

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken sweeping disciplinary action at its ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, expelling several high-profile members over alleged anti-party activities.

Among those affected are former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, former National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and former federal lawmaker Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, alongside several others.

The decision, which received overwhelming support from delegates, stands as one of the most far-reaching disciplinary measures taken by the PDP in recent years. Party leaders say the action is part of renewed efforts to restore unity, strengthen internal discipline, and sharpen the party’s strategic direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to convention officials, the expulsions became inevitable following prolonged internal conflicts and alleged conduct considered harmful to the party’s progress, cohesion, and long-term stability.

Stakeholders at the convention described the move as a “bold reset”—a decisive step aimed at repositioning the PDP for stronger electoral performance and rebuilding public trust.
