Oyedepo Instructs Church Members to Offer His Contact Information to Abductors if Taken

Bishop David Oyedepo, Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has advised his congregation to share his phone number with kidnappers if they are abducted, citing his spiritual authority to secure their release.

This directive was given during a recent service at the church's Canaanland headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, with a clip from the sermon spreading widely on social media on Thursday.

Oyedepo's instruction was straightforward: "If anybody picks you, give them my number, give them my number," he told his congregants.

The cleric supported his directive by sharing past instances of divine intervention involving kidnapped church members, highlighting his spiritual authority in such situations.

Oyedepo recounted the abduction of a pastor affiliated with the ministry, who was connected to the kidnapper via phone, allowing Oyedepo to issue a stern warning to the abductor.

He claimed to have told the kidnapper, "I said, in 24 hours, if you don’t take him out, you are dead," and stated that the situation was resolved immediately, with Oyedepo saying "The place was vibrating, on the spot."

In another instance, Oyedepo narrated the story of a female church member who was held captive but declared she would be freed by 7 a.m., and allegedly, the abductors began harming themselves before releasing her.

According to Oyedepo, the female church member said, "My father said, I’m getting out of here latest by 7 a.m.," and despite no call being placed to him, the abductors "started cutting themselves," before releasing her.

Oyedepo urged his congregants to recognize and apply their own spiritual authority, stating, "You have been raised far above the devil."

He emphasized the importance of the church exercising its spiritual authority, saying, "If the church does not conquer these devils, God has left heaven," and encouraging his congregants to tap into this authority.
