Osun 2026: Oyetola Confers with Party Veterans, Steps Up Community Outreach Efforts

Dr Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, has been holding strategic meetings with key stakeholders in preparation for the August 15 governorship election in Osun, as part of his efforts to consolidate party unity and mobilise grassroots support.

These meetings, which took place at his country home in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area, Osun, were attended by a diverse range of party leaders and stakeholders, including elders, serving and former members of the National Assembly, and former members of the State House of Assembly.

According to Dr. Bolaji Akinola, Oyetola's Special Adviser, the engagements were aimed at strengthening party unity and mobilising support ahead of the upcoming poll, with participants pledging their commitment to the party and promising to work together toward returning the APC to power in the state.

Oyetola addressed the gathering, urging party leaders to close ranks and intensify mobilisation across communities, stating that the forthcoming election would be decisive and critical for the future of the party and the state.

He emphasized the need for unity, loyalty, and sustained engagement with the people at the grassroots, stressing that the party must strengthen its political structures and deepen consultations in every ward and community across the state.

Oyetola expressed strong confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, describing him as a candidate enjoying broad support across Osun, with the leadership qualities required to deliver purposeful governance and steer Osun toward greater accountability, growth, and development.

He noted that Oyebamiji also enjoys the goodwill and confidence of stakeholders across the state, and reminded party leaders that preparations for the 2026 governorship election must align with broader strategies for the 2027 general elections.

Oyetola emphasized that unity among stakeholders remains the APC's greatest strength, and that collective resolve and unity will determine the outcome of the coming election, urging party leaders to remain loyal to the ideals of the party and committed to the progress of Osun.

He commended elders and loyal party members for their dedication to the APC, and urged them to sustain efforts that promote peace, cooperation, and political stability in their communities and local government areas.

Oyetola stressed that consistent grassroots mobilisation and collective responsibility would be essential for electoral victory, and encouraged participants to work together toward returning the APC to government in the state.
