Ortom Dismisses Rumors of 2027 Senate Bid, Calls Circulating Claims Untrue and Deceptive

Chief Samuel Ortom, the immediate past Governor of Benue State, has rejected claims circulating on social media that he plans to run for the Benue North-West Senatorial seat in 2027, according to a statement by his Media Adviser/Consultant, Dr. Terver Akase.

Dr. Akase described the report as entirely false and misleading, stating that it was necessary to address the rumour to prevent public confusion, despite such claims normally not warranting a response.

The statement from Dr. Akase noted that the rumour was "another imaginative piece of fiction making the rounds on social media", and emphasized the need to set the record straight for the sake of the public.

Chief Ortom has consistently stated that he has no plans to seek elective office in 2027, with Dr. Akase reiterating that his principal "has no intention whatsoever to contest any elective office in 2027" and has made this clear on several occasions.

According to Dr. Akase, Chief Ortom remains committed to supporting democratic principles, strengthening his party, and providing guidance, rather than pursuing political office.
