OPUAMA LEADER COMMENDS APC SCREENING COMMITTEE, CALLS FOR UNITY AHEAD OF SILGA CONSTITUENCY III RACE

The President of Concerned Citizens of Opuama Kingdom, Chief Inko Brightstar, popularly known as Whoknows Tomorrow, has applauded the 18-man committee saddled with the responsibility of screening aspirants for the forthcoming primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Southern Ijaw Constituency III.rnrnReacting after receiving confirmation that the committee had successfully concluded the screening process for aspirants vying for the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area (SILGA) Constituency III Assembly seat, Chief Inko described the exercise as thorough, credible, and commendable.rnrnHe specifically commended the committee chairman and members for what he termed a “transparent and diligent assignment,” noting that such efforts strengthen internal party democracy.rnrnChief Inko also used the opportunity to appeal to aspirants who did not scale through the screening process to accept the outcome in good faith.rnrn“Politics naturally produces winners and others who must step aside. What matters most is the unity of purpose and the collective interest of our people,” he stated.rnrnHe urged all stakeholders to rally behind those successfully screened, emphasizing the need for maturity, sportsmanship, and commitment to the progress of the party.rnrnAddressing party faithfuls and supporters, he appreciated their peaceful conduct throughout the process and encouraged continued cooperation as the political process advances.rnrnChief Inko made a passionate appeal particularly to stakeholders and aspirants from Opuama Kingdom to close ranks and support the Opuama son who emerged among the three selected candidates.rnrn“Opuama is a great kingdom. With unity, we can achieve our collective aspirations. The fact that today may not favor some individuals does not mean tomorrow will not. We must place Opuama first above personal interests,” he stressed.rnrnHe further noted that Opuama has, over the years, supported other communities within the constituency and deserves similar support at this critical time.rnrn“Since the return of democracy, Opuama has not produced a member of the State Assembly. The first representative came from Igbimoturo, followed by Ward 12 (Eniwari), and currently Ekowe holds the seat. It is only fair and just that Opuama is given the opportunity now,” he added.rnrnChief Inko also extended his appeal to stakeholders across Constituency III, to support the Opuama candidate in the spirit of fairness, equity, and justice.
