Optiva Capital restates commitment to wealth creation, opportunity across Africa

By Babajide Komolafe
nChairman of Optiva Capital Partners, Franklin Nechi, has said the company remains committed to helping Africans build wealth, create opportunities and secure lasting legacies through global access, smart investments and purpose-driven growth.
nSpeaking during an interactive session with the media, Nechi said the firm’s vision extends beyond investment immigration to include healthcare, women empowerment, wealth retention and support for Africa’s growing creative economy.
nAccording to him, “At Optiva, we do not see profit and purpose as competing priorities. They reinforce each other. Businesses that create access, opportunity and agency will define Africa’s future.”
nHighlighting the company’s healthcare initiatives, he said: “Wealth without health is meaningless. If a family loses a mother or child to a preventable condition, no amount of financial success can compensate for that loss.”
nNechi explained that the company has invested in healthcare infrastructure and maternal care because sustainable wealth creation must be supported by improved health outcomes.
nOn women empowerment, he disclosed that more than 70 per cent of Optiva’s workforce are women, many occupying leadership positions.
n“It was intentional, but not for optics. It was for performance. Women play a central role in investment decisions, family wealth planning, education and healthcare spending across Africa. Any company that ignores this reality is ignoring one of the continent’s most important economic shifts,” he said.
nSpeaking on Africa’s creative economy, Nechi described the sector as one of the continent’s strongest growth drivers.
n“The creative economy is one of Africa’s strongest exports. It creates jobs, attracts investment and enables young Africans to earn globally while building wealth locally,” he stated.
nHe added that Optiva supports creatives by helping them access global markets, secure mobility opportunities and structure assets for long-term value creation.
nNechi stressed that the company’s mission goes beyond securing second citizenships for clients.
n“We do not simply sell passports or properties. We help Africans build the structures that allow them to operate confidently across borders, diversify assets, expand businesses and secure their families’ futures,” he said.
