Onyejeocha reveals Tinubu granted her full autonomy as minister, set to announce political aspirations shortly

Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has credited her achievements and the relative peace experienced in the ministry during her term to the autonomy given to her by President Bola Tinubu.

At a grand homecoming reception held in her honor by the people of Umunneochi Local Government Area, Onyejeocha expressed her appreciation to the President for the trust he placed in her and the opportunity to serve in the Federal Executive Council.

She also hinted at her impending political plans, suggesting that she will soon announce her ambition ahead of the 2027 elections, as her constituents increasingly urge her to return to the National Assembly.

Onyejeocha, the former Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, highlighted key interventions she facilitated while in office, including federal efforts to address the persistent erosion challenges in Isuikwuato and Umunneochi.

She listed projects such as educational institutions, youth employment opportunities, scholarships, and annual medical outreaches as part of her contributions to the constituency, showcasing her commitment to the community.

Onyejeocha urged continued support for President Tinubu, while condemning attempts by some political actors to undermine her influence in Umunneochi, stating "there are not enough demons to stop me" as she reaffirmed her confidence in divine backing.

She disclosed that although several supporters had offered to purchase her nomination forms, she had already made provisions for that, and suggested that such funds could be redirected to her annual free medical outreach if her supporters insist on footing the bill.

In recognition of her contributions, traditional rulers in Umunneochi conferred on her the chieftaincy title "Anyanwu Nenye Ihe I" (the sun that gives light), acknowledging her outstanding service to the community.

Chairman of the Umunneochi Traditional Rulers' Advisory Council, HRH Eze Franklin Ohalezim, praised Onyejeocha as an exceptional leader and a valuable asset to both the constituency and the Igbo nation, citing her role in attracting federal institutions and other developmental strides.

Abia State APC Chairman, Chijioke Chukwu, described Onyejeocha as "an epitome of hard work and integrity," noting that her public service record remains free of scandal, and urged stakeholders to support her for higher responsibilities.

Representing President Tinubu, APC National Welfare Secretary, Donatus Nwankpa, commended Onyejeocha's performance in office and assured party members of a transparent and fair primary process ahead of future elections, urging her constituents to support her in her future political ambitions.

The event also featured the conferment of the chieftaincy title "Ikeoha" (Strength of the People) on President Tinubu, with dignitaries in attendance including Abia State Renewed Hope Ambassador, Chief Henry Ikoh, and former House of Representatives member, Emeka Atuma.

Dignitaries at the well-attended ceremony included Coordinator of City Boy Movement, Don Lulu, former Chairman of Isuikwuato LGA, Hon. Chima Agbaeze, and other APC stalwarts and political figures from across party lines.
