Paul Onuachu has once again proven why he is one of Europe’s most lethal forwards, scoring twice on Monday as Trabzonspor beat Kayserispor 3–1, breaking a 14-year-old club record in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Onuachu struck first just before halftime, heading home a precise cross in added time, then calmly converted a penalty to seal the victory, keeping Trabzonspor in the hunt for the league title.

The two goals gave Onuachu the distinction of scoring in seven consecutive league matches, a feat last achieved by Burak Yılmaz in the 2011/12 season. This season alone, the 31-year-old has scored 22 goals and provided two assists across all competitions, underlining his vital role in coach Fatih Tekke’s plans.

His contributions are not limited to scoring. Onuachu has been involved in nearly 40% of Trabzonspor’s league goals, making him indispensable in their push for a Champions League spot next season. He has now found the net in nine straight games across league and cup competitions, showcasing a consistency few strikers can match.

Since returning from AFCON in late January, Onuachu has netted against teams including Fenerbahçe, Gaziantep, Kasimpasa, and Antalyaspor, with standout performances also against Samsunspor and Fatih Karagümrük. Earlier in the campaign, he played a key role in a 4–0 win over Kayserispor, scoring and assisting.

Despite his record-breaking run, Onuachu remains humble.

“Goals are not even to score,” he said.

“I can say I’m happy. Since I arrived, people have been asking me, ‘How many goals are you going to score?’ I try to score as many as possible in every match.

“I focus on helping the team win. I couldn’t do this without my teammates—they make the goals possible.”

The Nigerian international’s form this season has cemented his reputation as one of Europe’s most decisive forwards, and he continues to be the driving force behind Trabzonspor’s title ambitions.
