Okpebholo Hosts Seyi Tinubu and City Boy Movement Delegation in Edo State

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State welcomed the leadership of the City Boy Movement to the Government House in Benin on Thursday, where they were accompanied by the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawale.

The governor praised the movement as a unified force that deserves support from Nigerians of all ages and political backgrounds, citing its alignment with the nation's push for a more enduring and prosperous future.

Okpebholo expressed confidence that the movement's emergence would play a crucial role in repositioning Nigerian youths towards achieving a more progressive country.

During the meeting, the governor also pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu's bid for a second term in office.

The City Boy Movement is a youth-driven organisation focused on supporting the Tinubu administration and his re-election, with a focus on mobilising young people aged 18 to 50 for constructive engagement in politics and community development.

The movement's goal is to bridge the gap between grassroots citizens and the government, and it is led by Seyi Tinubu, the president's son and grand patron of the movement.

Seyi Tinubu led the delegation to the Government House as the movement commenced its South-South regional tour, aimed at galvanising youths for nation-building.

According to the Minister of Youth Development, the team's visit to Edo was to seek the governor's support and that of Edo youths in achieving the movement's objectives.

Other speakers at the meeting emphasised the need for youth collaboration ahead of 2027, as the movement prepares to meet with youths across Edo's 18 local government areas before continuing its tour to other states in the region.
