Obi rallies support for NDC in Delta

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has called for unity, improved security and a shift from consumption to production as part of efforts to create jobs and reduce poverty in Nigeria.

Obi stated this in a post on his X platform on Saturday while recounting his visit to Delta State on Thursday, September 24.

He said he joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in the state, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, other candidates, party leaders and members at the inauguration of the party’s campaign office in Asaba.

According to Obi, the event provided another opportunity to communicate the party’s message and its commitment to what he described as a better Nigeria.

He said the country must unite, strengthen its security architecture and move from a consumption-driven economy to one focused on production.

“We must unite, secure our dear nation, and move it from consumption to production, create jobs, and pull our people out of poverty,” Obi said.

He thanked Iyovwaye, other party leaders and members in Delta State for their commitment to the party’s campaign and what he described as the development of the state and Nigeria.

Obi also expressed appreciation to residents of the state for the reception and hospitality extended to him and his delegation. “A New Nigeria is Possible, and Nigeria will be OK,” he said.
