Obi Convenes Private Talks with ADC South East Leaders in Enugu

A closed-door meeting was held on Tuesday between Mr Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate, and the Chairmen of the South East caucus of the African Democratic Congress, in a move to consolidate regional party structures.

According to Mr Martins Ugwu, Head of the ADC media team in the state, this meeting was a deliberate effort to demonstrate regional alignment and strengthen the party's presence in the South East.

The meeting, which took place in Enugu, marked Obi's first encounter with the newly elected South East Chairmen of the party, and was reportedly connected to his intention to contest the forthcoming ADC presidential primary.

The primary goal of the meeting was to reinforce internal party democracy, harmonise state-level operations, and align leadership priorities to deepen grassroots engagement across the South East zone.

Those in attendance included the Enugu State Chairman-elect, Prof. Augustine Akubue, as well as his counterparts from Imo, Abia, Anambra, and Ebonyi States, all of whom played a part in the discussions.
