Nwoye announces bid for APC's deputy national chairman position, vows to rally Southern Nigeria's support

Dr. Ben Nwoye, the immediate past Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, has formally announced his candidacy for the Deputy National Chairman (South) position at the party's upcoming national convention.

Nwoye made this declaration during a telephone interview on Sunday, at which time he also unveiled the key members of his campaign team, including Timothy Amah, who has been appointed as Director-General.

As part of his campaign structure, directors have been assigned to each of the six geopolitical zones, with a focus on mobilising youth and women to support his bid.

According to Nwoye, his campaign office is now operational in Abuja, and he has pledged to work tirelessly on behalf of APC members, with the goal of ensuring the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates.

Nwoye's motivation for seeking the Deputy National Chairman (South) position stems from his desire to bolster the APC's political presence across Southern Nigeria and secure crucial electoral victories.

He has called upon all party leaders and stakeholders to rally behind his campaign, with the aim of building a strong team that can deliver decisive wins, and has expressed his intention to leverage his network to mobilise the entire South.

Nwoye and his team are expected to obtain the party's nomination forms soon, which will formally mark the beginning of his campaign.

With a wealth of experience in various leadership roles, including his tenure as Secretary of the Forum of APC State Chairmen and as caretaker committee chairman in Enugu State, Nwoye is confident in his ability to make a positive impact.

The APC is slated to hold its national convention later this year, at which time new members of the National Working Committee will be elected.
