No talks with U.S. until conditions are met – Iran

A top Iranian security official on Tuesday said that Iran would not negotiate with the United States until its conditions were met.

Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, made the remarks in a post on X in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments on Monday.

Trump said Tehran wanted to reach a deal “quickly and badly” and that Washington could resume negotiations with Iran.

“The failing Nation of Iran wants to make a deal, quickly and badly,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Rezaei urged Iranians not to be distracted by what he described as Trump’s mixed signals, ranging from “no negotiations” to being ready for talks.

“The stakes around oil and the straits have changed. Damage control won’t stop what’s coming,” he said.

“No talks until Iran’s conditions are met. Period!” Rezaei stressed.

On June 18, the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the conflict in the region on all fronts, including Lebanon.

Under the MoU, the two countries were scheduled to hold negotiations within 60 days, ending on Aug. 17, to reach a final agreement.

However, the fate of the talks remains unclear following a series of recent escalations between the two countries
