Nigeria's national prayer is not centered on Pastor Adeboye or the RCCG, the PFN assures its detractors.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, has categorically denied allegations that the recent nationwide prayer gathering was linked to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, or its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, labeling such claims as entirely unfounded and misleading.

In a statement, PFN's National Secretary, Bishop David Bakare, clarified that the programme was solely conceived, approved, and executed by the PFN, with no involvement from the RCCG or Pastor Adeboye.

Bishop Bakare expressed disappointment that some individuals were attempting to attribute the programme to Pastor E.A. Adeboye or the RCCG, emphasizing that the RCCG did not call for any protest and the programme was a PFN initiative.

The programme, according to Bishop Bakare, was a PFN affair, with all participating churches, including the RCCG, following directives from the PFN leadership without any interference from Pastor Adeboye or the RCCG.

The final day of the programme coincided with Pentecost Sunday, a globally recognized Christian observance, and Bishop Bakare noted that Pentecost is celebrated by Christians worldwide, making the gatherings part of a global Christian observance.

Bishop Bakare revealed that an initial proposal for public processions and placards was suspended by the PFN leadership due to prevailing security concerns, demonstrating the Fellowship's responsible approach to the programme.

The PFN expressed satisfaction with the programme's outcome, describing it as successful in mobilizing believers to pray for the nation and conveying the concerns and aspirations of Nigerians to those in authority.

Bishop Bakare stated that the programme's success was a testament to the power of collective prayer, and he encouraged individuals with alternative approaches to organize their own lawful initiatives rather than spreading misinformation.
