Nigeria's Anti-Graft Agency Detains 15 Individuals in Possession of Radioactive Ore in Kaduna
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's Kaduna Zonal Directorate has taken 15 male suspects into custody, alleging their participation in the illicit trade of radioactive solid minerals, according to EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale, who issued a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
nDetails of the arrest, as provided by Oyewale, indicate that the suspects were apprehended on Sunday along the Suleja-Maji Road in Niger State.
nThe suspects were found to be transporting the suspected solid minerals in three trucks, destined for various locations across Nigeria, although the purpose of the conveyance was not disclosed.
nCurrently, the suspects are undergoing additional investigation at the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the commission, after which they will be prosecuted in court, as announced by Oyewale.
