Nigerian Currency Hits New Low, Exchanging at N1,400 to the US Dollar on the Black Market

The Naira saw a notable improvement in value yesterday, with its exchange rate rising to N1,400 per dollar in the parallel market, a gain from the N1,410 per dollar recorded on Tuesday.
nIn a contrasting development, the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, NFEM, witnessed a decline in the Naira's value, with the currency depreciating to N1,363 per dollar.
nAccording to data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, the indicative exchange rate in the market increased to N1,363 per dollar, up from N1,359.5 per dollar on Tuesday, marking a depreciation of N3.5 for the Naira.
nThe difference in exchange rates between the parallel and official markets narrowed to N37 per dollar, a reduction from the N50.5 per dollar gap recorded on Tuesday.
