Nigerian Air Force bombs militant supply hub and key hideouts in Sambisa region

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Tuesday said the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has sustained its intensified counter-terrorism operations in Borno State, carrying out decisive airstrikes on terrorist strongholds and logistics bases within the Sambisa Forest axis.

Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed that the strikes followed credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports.

According to him, NAF air assets on May 26, 2026, conducted precision strikes on identified terrorist hideouts and support facilities at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.

He said the coordinated bombardments destroyed key terrorist structures and neutralised several insurgents, further weakening the operational capacity of the groups operating in the area.

Ejodame noted that the sustained air offensives had created fear and confusion among terrorist elements across the Sambisa axis.

“The intensity and precision of the ongoing air offensives have continued to generate fear and confusion among terrorist elements across the Sambisa axis,” he said.

He added that intelligence assessments indicated growing apprehension and disorientation within terrorist ranks as continuous bombardments denied them freedom of movement and safe havens.

“The NAF, in concert with troops of Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies, remains resolute in maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist networks while reinforcing its commitment to protecting innocent lives and restoring lasting peace and security across the North-East,” the statement added.
