Nigeria will remain united, support Tinubu — Prophet Iyunade

The President of Pentecostal Sanctuary Bible Ministries, Prophet Sunday Dare Iyunade, has declared that Nigeria will remain one indivisible nation, urging citizens to abandon secessionist agitations and support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in rebuilding the country.

Prophet Iyunade made the statement at a press conference in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, ahead of the church’s 30th anniversary and 24th annual convention.

According to the cleric, the breakup of Nigeria is not part of God’s plan, warning that individuals and groups advocating secession were pursuing what he described as a misguided agenda.

“Nigeria may have diverse interests, but separation is not the solution. God has not approved the breakup of Nigeria. Rather than promote rebellion, Nigerians should work together with the government to develop the country,” he said.

The cleric also expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic prospects, predicting a period of prosperity and wealth creation for the nation.

“I see improvement in the economy and an explosion of wealth in Nigeria. Harvest is coming for the nation, and prosperity will return,” he said.

Prophet Iyunade urged Nigerians to set aside ethnic sentiments and embrace patriotism, stressing that unity and collective effort were essential for national development.

He advised regions to invest in technology and other economic opportunities to drive growth rather than pursue divisive agendas.

The cleric also called for prayers for peace and stability across the country, noting that national unity remained critical to Nigeria’s progress.

He further urged residents and leaders in Ogun State to pray for the state to realise its potential as a major industrial hub in the country.

On the vacant stool of the Awujale of Ijebuland, Prophet Iyunade advised stakeholders to seek divine guidance in selecting a God-fearing traditional ruler who would uphold the dignity of the throne.

Reflecting on the ministry’s 30-year journey, the cleric said the church had grown from a small vision into a global Christian community with branches across several locations in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

He said this year’s convention, themed “Maranatha (The Lord Cometh)”, calls on believers to remain steadfast and spiritually prepared for the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Prophet Iyunade also urged Christians to intensify evangelism efforts, particularly in rural communities where the gospel had yet to reach.

As part of activities marking the anniversary, the church donated medical items to the General Hospital in Ijebu-Ode and provided writing materials and welfare packages to inmates at the correctional centre in the town.

Other programmes lined up for the celebration include a revival, ministers’ and workers’ conference, rally, praise night, ordination, and thanksgiving service scheduled to hold between March 22 and March 29.
