Nigeria to Experience Three Days of Sunny and Cloudy Conditions, Says Weather Agency

Nigeria's weather landscape is expected to be characterized by sunshine and cloudiness from Monday to Wednesday, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, or NiMet.

On Monday, the northern region is anticipated to experience sunny skies with patches of clouds during the morning hours, while thunderstorms accompanied by light rains are expected to affect parts of Taraba State later in the day.

A cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is forecasted to prevail over the north-central region during the morning hours, with thunderstorms accompanied by light rains expected over parts of Kogi and Benue states later in the day.

Meanwhile, the southern region is expected to have a cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine, along with prospects of morning thunderstorms over parts of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States, and thunderstorms accompanied by light rains across the entire region later in the day.

On Tuesday, the northern region is predicted to have sunny skies with patches of clouds, with prospects of thunderstorms and light rains over parts of Taraba and Kaduna states during the morning hours.

Later in the day on Tuesday, NiMet anticipates thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rains over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, and Kaduna States.

Cloudy skies with sunny intervals are expected over the north-central region on Tuesday, with prospects of isolated thunderstorms and moderate rains over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Benue, and Nasarawa States during the morning hours.

Widespread thunderstorms with moderate rains are expected to affect the north-central region later in the day on Tuesday, while a cloudy atmosphere is anticipated over parts of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States during the morning hours.

On Wednesday, sunny skies with patches of clouds are expected to prevail over the northern region during the morning hours, with thunderstorms and moderate rains forecasted to affect parts of Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Kaduna, and Taraba States later in the day.

Isolated thunderstorms are anticipated over the north-central region on Wednesday morning, with isolated thunderstorms expected over most parts of the region in the afternoon and evening hours.

A cloudy atmosphere with strong chances of thunderstorms and moderate rains is expected to affect Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States in the southern region during the morning hours on Wednesday.

Widespread thunderstorms are anticipated across the southern region during the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday, according to NiMet.

NiMet has urged the public to take necessary precautions, as strong winds may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur, and to ensure loose objects are secured to avoid collision.

The agency has also advised the public to avoid driving during heavy rain and to disconnect electrical appliances from sockets, and to stay away from tall trees to avoid the impact of falling branches and broken trees.

Temperatures are expected to remain high, causing thermal discomfort, and the public is advised to wear breathable clothing, stay in well-ventilated environments, and stay hydrated.
