NECO releases 2026 Internal SSCE results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2026 results of the Internal Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
nThe Registrar of the Council, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, announced the results at the council’s headquarters in Minna on Thursday.
nHe said a total of 1,378,048 candidates, representing 682,352 male candidates and 695,696 female candidates, registered for this year’s internal SSCE.
nAccording to the Registrar, 1,371,992 candidates, representing 678,903 male candidates and 693,089 female candidates, sat for the examination.
nHe said 804,948 candidates representing 58.67 per cent got five credits and above, including English language and mathematics, while 1,162,118 candidates representing 84.70 per cent got five credits, irrespective of English language and mathematics.
nIbrahim-Wushishi revealed that the council recorded a reduction in the number of candidates involved in examination malpractice from 3,878 in 2025 to 1,406 candidates in 2026.
nAccording to him, 334 candidates with special needs comprising those with hearing impairment, visual impairment, albinism, autism and low vision sat for this year’s internal SSCE conducted by the council.
nHe said the results were released 63 days after the conclusion of the examination both within and outside Nigeria. (NAN)
