NDC pledges to fight against single-party rule

National Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Senator Moses Cleopas, has vowed that the party will resist any attempt to impose a one-party system on the country, and is instead poised to revolutionize Nigerian politics.

Cleopas made this assertion yesterday at the party secretariat in Yenagoa, where he received defectors from the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who formally joined the NDC with their supporters.

The NDC, according to Cleopas, is committed to serving the people, marking a significant departure from the current state of politics in the country, and is focused on bringing about positive change.

Cleopas predicted an imminent political revolution, where the power to elect leaders would reside with the people, rather than a select few, and emphasized that this shift would be a significant turning point for the country.

He cautioned against the dangers of partisan politics, stating that the pursuit of power should not be a do-or-die affair, and that the NDC would not engage in such tactics.

Cleopas cited the party's past successes in the state, where they had stood with the people against oppression from federal might and emerged victorious, and expressed confidence that they could replicate these successes across the country.

The national chairman praised the party's national leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, a former governor who had stood firm to ensure electoral victories despite opposition, and commended his record of conviction and commitment to fairness and equity.

Cleopas described the NDC as a pan-Nigerian movement that is inclusive of all segments of society, regardless of social status or background, and emphasized that the party's goal is to create a more just and equitable society.

According to Cleopas, the NDC is a party of politicians with convictions, who stand for fairness and equity, and are not afraid to speak truth to power, even if it means going against the status quo.

Selekebina Saboh, a stalwart of the APC and leader of a political bloc in Ekeremor Local Government Area, described his defection to the NDC, along with over 1,200 supporters, as a new dawn for the political landscape of both the state and the country.

Saboh commended the party's national leader for taking bold steps to bring about desired change in the political narrative, and expressed his commitment to strengthening the party and winning elections at different levels across the country.

Saboh stated that he and his supporters were ready to replicate their past commitment and diligence within the NDC, and were confident that they could make a significant impact and bring about positive change.

He emphasized that the NDC would ensure that the people feel the benefits of their efforts, from the grassroots across the country, and that they would be a breath of fresh air in the political landscape, with a focus on winning elections and serving the people.
