NDC faction commissions new secretariat in Anambra, passes vote of confidence on leadership

NNEWI — The factional leadership of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, in Anambra State has commissioned its newly acquired state secretariat in Awka, describing the development as a major step towards strengthening the party’s structure and unity in the state.

The factional state Chairman, Mr Chukwudifu Patrick David, who spoke during the commissioning, assured party members that their contributions to the growth of the party would be recognised and valued.

David said the acquisition of the secretariat was in line with the party’s determination to consolidate its political structure, promote unity and provide a central hub for its activities across the state.

He said: “This is a major step towards consolidating our political structure and fostering party unity in the Anambra State chapter of NDC. It is also to bring together party leaders, stakeholders and grassroots supporters to establish a central hub for party operations across the state.

“I urge every party member to be sincere and faithful to our great party, regardless of the wave we have experienced. I want to remind you that everything that happened is for the benefit of the future of our great party.

“I am not here only to be the chairman, but your loyal and confident servant. Let us move our great party, NDC, as one family. I assure you that my leadership will give a listening ear to any complaint and provide answers and solutions to issues raised.”

The chairman urged members to work together and uphold the party’s ideology, saying internal cohesion and sincerity of purpose were essential to achieving electoral success.

“We can only succeed as one united family if we stand fit, firm and stand by the truth and always do the right thing in our party. We must pay attention to our party ideology and ensure internal cohesion and sincerity of purpose, which is the primary foundation for forthcoming electoral successes,” he said.

The commissioning attracted commendation from representatives of the party’s 21 Local Government Areas in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the 21 LGA chairmen, the NDC Chairman for Oyi Local Government Area, Chief Emmanuel Ifefiora, commended the state leadership for what he described as its effective leadership style.

Ifefiora expressed confidence that the party’s current direction would strengthen its grassroots presence and position it for electoral success across the state’s 21 local government areas.

Also, the NDC Chairman for Anaocha LGA, Mr Nestor Alike, moved a vote of confidence in David’s leadership.

Alike described the establishment of the state secretariat and the expansion of the party’s grassroots mobilisation as significant achievements that would enhance the party’s visibility and stability in the state.

The motion was seconded by the NDC Chairman for Anambra East LGA, Mr Paul Okolo, who reaffirmed the unity of the party under David’s leadership and dismissed claims of internal division.
