National Democratic Congress exempts Omo-Agege and Ochei from certain requirements for Delta State's senatorial elections

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has given its seal of approval for a waiver, enabling Ovie Omo-Agege, the former Deputy Senate President, to run for the Delta Central Senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Similarly, a waiver has been approved for Victor Ochei, the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, to contest the Delta North Senatorial seat, as announced by the party.

The decision to grant these waivers was made following the formal defection of Omo-Agege and Ochei from the All Progressives Congress to the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

This development was disclosed in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja by Osa Directo, the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress views Omo-Agege and Ochei as seasoned political leaders whose inclusion in the party is expected to bolster its structure and electoral prospects in Delta.

The waivers were granted in acknowledgment of the duo's leadership experience, political influence, and dedication to democratic governance and service to the people, as stated in the statement.

The party is confident that both politicians possess the necessary capacity and grassroots support to provide effective representation for the people of Delta Central and Delta North Senatorial Districts.
