Naira to US Dollar conversion value for Thursday, May 27, 2026

The Nigerian Naira held its ground against the United States Dollar on Wednesday morning, with both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets exhibiting a notable degree of stability.
nAccording to data from the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, the Naira was trading at an official rate of 1,372.84 Naira per Dollar, marking a slight deviation from the previous day's rate of 1,372.64 Naira.
nThis minor adjustment is part of a broader trend of minimal fluctuation in the official window, a pattern that has persisted throughout the latter half of May.
nDaily transaction metrics reveal a steady influx of liquidity, which can be attributed to the Central Bank of Nigeria's sustained market interventions aimed at mitigating structural volatility.
nIn the parallel market, also known as the black market, the Naira's stability was mirrored, with street traders in major cities like Lagos and Abuja buying the Dollar at an average rate of 1,410 Naira and selling at rates ranging from 1,420 Naira to 1,425 Naira per Dollar.
nThe difference between the official and parallel market rates remains under 4%, indicating limited opportunities for arbitrage and a greater sense of equilibrium across the various market segments.
nMarket analysts believe that the Naira's ongoing stability can be attributed to consistent supply dynamics and the central bank's decision to implement tighter monetary measures.
nFinancial stakeholders anticipate that the Naira will continue to trade within its current band, as demand from corporations for the month-end import cycles is expected to decrease over the next few days.
