NAF destroys gun trucks, neutralizes terrorists in Sambisa

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, carried out precision air strikes in the Sambisa general area, destroying four gun trucks and associated logistics assets, while neutralizing scores of terrorists, the service announced on Thursday.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of NAF Public Relations and Information, said the operation was guided by credible intelligence and sustained surveillance. “The strikes disrupted the adversary’s operational mobility and reinforced the effectiveness of intelligence-driven airpower in support of ongoing security efforts,” he said.

The operation follows a reaffirmation by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, of the NAF’s strategic resolve to maintain decisive air superiority in support of Operation Hadin Kai, aimed at consolidating operational gains and reinforcing stability across the North-East.

In line with this, Air Vice Marshal Precious Amadi, Chief of Operations, NAF Headquarters, conducted an operational visit to NAF Base Maiduguri to review readiness and assess the operational environment. Briefings from the Air Component and 105 Composite Group highlighted the base’s preparedness and resilience for high-tempo joint operations.

Air Marshal Aneke emphasized that coordinated air-ground operations continue to shape the battlespace, constrain hostile elements, and support joint forces in sustaining operational superiority across the theatre.

The visit also included engagement with Headquarters Theatre Command, Operation Hadin Kai, strengthening air-ground synergy and demonstrating NAF’s commitment to national security. Air Vice Marshal MC Ekwueme, Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, also visited the base, boosting personnel morale.

“The NAF remains focused on maintaining persistent air presence, delivering precision effects, and supporting joint forces to consolidate hard-won gains toward lasting peace and stability,” Air Marshal Aneke said.
