Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, aspires to leave a lasting legacy by transforming the state and guiding it out of its former struggles before his tenure concludes in May 2027.

Sule expressed these sentiments during a Friday interview on Arise Television's Day Break, where he reflected on the accomplishments of his administration and his desired lasting impact.

The governor characterized Nasarawa as a "diamond in the rough" at the outset of his term, noting that his administration had worked diligently to unlock the state's potential and enhance its visibility.

Sule emphasized his desire to be remembered for his role in bringing the state out of its challenging circumstances, stating "I want to be remembered for bringing the state out of the woods, as it is a diamond in the rough that we have now refined, making it clearly visible to all."

According to Sule, his administration has successfully fostered greater unity across the state, while also diminishing the influence of opposition parties, resulting in a more cohesive and unified state.

The governor observed that the state is now more visible and united, with opposition forces significantly reduced, noting "The state is now more seen, more united, and we have minimized opposition, thereby unifying the state."

Sule explained that most political disagreements in the state now occur within the ruling party, rather than between the ruling All Progressives Congress and opposition parties.

He stated that the primary opposition now stems from within the party itself, with some individuals feeling disenfranchised or dissatisfied with election outcomes, saying "Our opposition now is really within our own party, where some people feel shortchanged or unhappy about losing elections, leading to infighting, but there is no opposition from external sources."

Sule also highlighted industrialization and the state's economic prospects as key achievements he hopes will define his administration.

The governor expressed his desire to be remembered for these accomplishments, adding "The state is now more united, more industrialized, and has greater prospects, which are now evident, and these are the things I wish to be remembered for."
