My father doesn’t know I’m an actor – Uzor Arukwe

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has revealed that his father is either unaware or unwilling to accept that he has fully embraced a career in acting.

The actor made the disclosure during an interview on #WithChude, hosted by Chude Jideonwo, where he spoke candidly about his family’s initial response to his decision to join the film industry.

According to Arukwe, although his father has heard about his success in Nollywood, he chooses not to believe it.

“My father doesn’t know that I’m an actor; he has heard, but he doesn’t want to believe.

“My mum was slow to adapt because of her husband, but she later came around,” he said.

He added that his mother initially struggled to accept his career path due to her husband’s stance but eventually came to terms with it.

Arukwe, who has built a reputation as one of Nollywood’s notable actors, has featured in several popular films and productions.
