Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated that his administration remains committed to building a prosperous and liveable homeland.
The governor made the remark during a solemn Palm Sunday procession at the Light House Chaplaincy in the Government House, Awka.
“Palm Sunday reminds us that leadership is a call to selfless service and sacrifice. As we enter this Holy Week, we remain committed to building a liveable and prosperous homeland under the guidance of the Almighty”, he said.
The Mass, presided over by the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Raphael Onyekwelu, also had in attendance the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim and some top government officials.
The ceremony began with the traditional blessing of palm fronds, symbolizing the “triumphant entry” of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
The governor emphasized the spiritual significance of the day, describing it as a “powerful start” to the holy week.
According to him, the themes of humility and service exemplified by the life of Christ are essential for the progress of Anambra State.
In a homily, Rev. Fr. Onyekwelu urged the congregation to emulate the humility of Christ, reminding leaders and citizens alike of the importance of integrity and peace.
