Military aviation unit vows to ensure secure retrieval of kidnapped Oyo students

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has given Nigerians his word that the Nigerian Air Force is fully dedicated to safely rescuing the abducted school victims in Oyo State, underscoring the service's unwavering commitment to the nation's security.
nDuring the Nigerian Air Force's second quarter 2026 route march exercise in Abuja on Saturday, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, represented by Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, reaffirmed the NAF's pledge to support ongoing security operations nationwide.
nThe Nigerian Air Force remains steadfast in its collaboration with other security agencies to protect lives, property, and advance national security objectives, according to Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.
nAir Marshal Aneke emphasized that the route march highlights the NAF's focus on the health, wellness, and fitness of its personnel, which are vital to operational effectiveness and mission success.
nA healthy and physically fit workforce, Aneke explained, is better equipped to handle the demands of modern military operations and contribute significantly to national security efforts.
nThe exercise promotes teamwork, camaraderie, esprit de corps, and overall wellness among personnel, while strengthening the bond necessary for effective service delivery, according to Air Marshal Aneke.
nAir Marshal Aneke urged personnel to adopt healthy lifestyles and regular physical activities as part of their daily routines to maintain their physical and mental well-being.
nHe directed all personnel to participate actively in weekly Wednesday sporting activities across NAF bases to encourage fitness and social cohesion.
nThis initiative, Aneke noted, will also provide opportunities for talent discovery for the Armed Forces of Nigeria games and discourage activities that distract personnel from their responsibilities.
nAir Marshal Aneke expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support towards the development and operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Air Force.
nAneke also commended senior officers, officers, airmen, airwomen, and civilian staff for their dedication and participation in the exercise.
nFurthermore, the CAS praised the commander, 053 Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force Camp, and his team for successfully hosting the exercise.
