UK-based Nigerian business safety expert and content creator, Gemgem, has sparked conversations online after sharing her candid views on relationships, infidelity, and her personal dating experiences during a recent appearance on the Clarity Zone Podcast.

Speaking during the interview, Gemgem described Nigeria’s relationship culture as one where infidelity has become increasingly common. According to her, many people have become accustomed to cheating regardless of their relationship status.

“From what I know right now, the culture in Nigeria is very cheat-heavy. Everyone is cheating, whether you are married or single. Literally, what I am hearing is crazy,” Gemgem said.

The content creator further claimed that some women have become resigned to infidelity in their relationships, noting that many prioritize discretion over fidelity.

“Some Nigerian women will literally tell you, ‘I know my man cheats, but as long as he doesn’t bring it home,’” Gemgem stated during the podcast.

Sharing her perspective on how men and women approach infidelity differently, Gemgem made a statement that has since generated reactions on social media.

“Men cheat more, women cheat better,” Gemgem said, suggesting that while men may engage in infidelity more frequently, women are often more discreet about it.

Beyond her observations about relationships in Nigeria, Gemgem also opened up about her personal romantic journey, revealing that she spent seven years in an on-and-off relationship that ultimately did not lead to marriage.

Reflecting on the experience, Gemgem disclosed that she met her former partner when she was 25 years old and remained in the relationship until the age of 32.

“I wasted a lot of time in my previous relationship. I was in a relationship on and off for seven years. I met him at 25, and we broke up at 32,” Gemgem revealed.

According to Gemgem, one of the most painful aspects of the breakup was discovering how quickly her former partner moved on after their relationship ended.

“Within three months, he proposed to another girl,” Gemgem recounted, highlighting the emotional impact the development had on her.
