Massive crowds gather in support of Hashim following Accord Primary election

Thousands of supporters of Accord Party presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, on Thursday trooped to Dawaki, Abuja, in a show of solidarity following the party’s recently concluded presidential primary.

The supporters, drawn from various parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), gathered to welcome Hashim as he met with party members to express appreciation for their mobilisation and participation in the presidential primary held on May 31, 2026.

Addressing the crowd, Hashim described the turnout as a strong indication of growing grassroots enthusiasm for what he termed a “people-driven political movement” focused on the aspirations of ordinary Nigerians.

He said the meeting was organised primarily to thank supporters for their commitment, solidarity and active involvement in the Accord Party’s internal democratic process.

According to him, the large turnout and continued engagement by supporters reflect a shared desire for improved governance, greater economic opportunities and national renewal.

Hashim commended members of the Accord Party in the FCT for their unwavering support, noting that their dedication has strengthened his resolve to work towards a better Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Political observers say the demonstration of support adds to early signs of mobilisation among emerging opposition figures as political parties begin consolidating their structures ahead of the next electoral cycle.
