Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has come out to refute a viral video spreading on social media that falsely depicts her as endorsing a dubious investment scheme.

On Sunday, the lawmaker issued a public warning, labeling the video as a manipulated and deceptive piece of content created by scammers to swindle unsuspecting individuals.

Akpoti-Uduaghan took to her official social media handle to release a statement, where she explained that the video had been doctored from a previous interview she had with television journalist Seun Okinbaloye.

According to her, the footage was altered by criminals to promote a fake investment platform, with the manipulated clip featuring her voice and image, but being entirely fabricated and untrustworthy.

Akpoti-Uduaghan urged Nigerians to disregard the viral video and avoid engaging with any investment opportunities linked to the manipulated content, emphasizing the importance of caution.

She also appealed to the public to report the page or platform hosting the fake video, so that it can be removed and prevent others from falling prey to the scam.

The Kogi Central lawmaker highlighted the rising threat of digital scams, advising citizens to remain cautious when interacting online and to be aware of the potential dangers.
