Lalong denounces Jos violence, demands prompt action against perpetrators

Senator Simon Lalong, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters and APC senator from Plateau South, has vehemently denounced the brutal attack on innocent civilians in Rukuba village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

In a statement issued on Monday, the former Governor of Plateau State denounced the incident as a heinous and cowardly act, emphasizing that it has no place in a civilized society and constitutes a direct assault on peace, unity, and human life.

Senator Lalong expressed profound outrage and condemnation over the tragic event, offering his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Rukuba, and all those affected by the incident, while praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased and the swift recovery of the injured.

As he extended sympathy to those affected, Senator Lalong urged the Plateau State Government and security agencies to take swift and decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators of the attack, stressing that they must be brought to justice without delay to serve as a deterrent to others.

He also called on the Federal Government and security operatives to intensify surveillance and intelligence gathering in vulnerable communities across Plateau State, particularly in Jos North, to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of citizens.
