Lagos State APC Set to Swear in Freshly Chosen Local Government Leaders in 2027

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, formally inaugurated its newly elected executive committee members at the local government and ward levels on Friday. This ceremony had initially been scheduled for the previous day but was postponed due to the unexpected passing of Karamo Yesiro, the party's Assistant Publicity Secretary, who had been re-elected just a day earlier during the Lagos APC State Congress at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Yesiro's death occurred on Wednesday evening, less than 24 hours after his re-election. Cornelius Ojelabi, the state party Chairman, addressed the gathering at the APC State Secretariat in Acme, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos, emphasizing the need for the new executives to embody the party's values and work diligently. Ojelabi called for unity among party members and cautioned against divisive tendencies, especially with the 2027 general elections on the horizon. He described the inauguration as a pivotal moment in fortifying the party's organizational structure ahead of future elections. Ojelabi stated, "You have been deemed worthy of leading the party for the next four years, a role that is crucial to the party's growth and consolidation."
