Lagos govt releases 2026 admission list for model colleges, upgraded schools

The Lagos State Government has released the merit admission list for candidates who sat for the 2026 screening test into Lagos State Model Colleges and upgraded secondary schools following the screening exercise.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, the government said successful candidates can now check their admission status on the Lagos State Examinations Board portal.

The statement read in part: “The Ministry hereby informs the general public, and especially candidates who sat for the Screening Test into Lagos State Model Colleges and Upgraded Secondary Schools in May 2026, that the admission status for the Merit List has been released.”

According to Dokunmu-Adegbite, the list was released after the completion of all the screening exercise conducted for prospective students seeking admission into the state-owned schools.

The ministry therefore, directed successful candidates to visit the Lagos State Examinations Board portal from Tuesday, July 22, 2026, to confirm their admission status.

Admitted students have also been advised to proceed to their respective schools from Monday, August 31, 2026, to collect their admission letters and complete registration.

“Successful candidates should then proceed to their respective schools from Monday, 31st August 2026, to collect their admission letters and complete the registration process,” Dokunmu-Adegbite stated.

The government congratulated all candidates on the merit list and urged them to approach their academic journey with dedication.

“The Ministry congratulates all successful candidates and wishes them a rewarding and successful academic journey,” Dokunmu-Adegbite he stated.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to a transparent, merit-based admission process, saying it remains focused on providing access to quality education across Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools in the state.

“The Lagos State Government remains committed to providing access to quality education and ensuring a transparent, merit-based admission process into its Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools.”
