Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu extends warm felicitations to Oyebanji on his successful re-election bid

Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has extended congratulations to Gov. Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti on his resounding win in the governorship election held on Saturday, characterizing the outcome as a direct result of good governance and effective service delivery.

Sanwo-Olu, who also serves as the chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, made this statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, in a release issued on Sunday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the governorship election on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Oyebanji's sweeping victory, which saw him secure 83.54 per cent of the total votes cast across the 16 local government areas of the state, is a reflection of his widespread popularity and the trust the electorate has placed in him, according to Sanwo-Olu.

Sanwo-Olu urged Oyebanji to continue delivering dividends of democracy to the people during his second term in office, emphasizing the importance of maintaining his commitment to the electorate.

As a member of the APC National Campaign Council for the election, Sanwo-Olu also praised President Bola Tinubu for his purposeful leadership and for driving the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to transform Nigeria's socio-economic development.

Additionally, Sanwo-Olu commended the leaders and members of the APC at all levels for their unified efforts in securing the party's victory in the election.

Sanwo-Olu expressed his congratulations to Oyebanji, stating "I congratulate my dear brother, Gov. Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, for emerging victorious in yesterday’s governorship election."

He also extended his congratulations to Oyebanji's running mate, Mrs Monisade Afuye, on her re-election, highlighting Oyebanji's victory as a reward for his outstanding performance and delivery of democracy dividends to the people of Ekiti during his first term.

The election result, which showed Oyebanji winning with 83.54 per cent of the total votes cast, is a clear indication of the trust and confidence the people of Ekiti have in his administration and leadership, Sanwo-Olu noted.

Sanwo-Olu expressed his appreciation to the electorate for their support of the APC, saying "I want to thank the good people of Ekiti for their unflinching support and continued belief in our great party the APC."

He assured the people that the ruling party will continue to work towards the progress, development, and prosperity of the people, stating "I want to assure you that the ruling party will not disappoint you."
