Kwankwaso Urges Citizens to Treat 2027 Polls with Gravity

Kwankwaso made this call during his formal reception into the African Democratic Congress, where he urged his supporters to obtain their ADC membership cards and INEC voters’ cards, which he described as vital for exercising their democratic rights.

The 2027 general elections, according to Kwankwaso, is a special one that demands utmost seriousness from all stakeholders, and he has introduced a new requirement for entry into his house, where visitors must present their ADC membership and INEC voters’ card as a gate pass.

Kwankwaso has instructed his supporters to register with the ADC and obtain their voters’ cards, emphasizing the need for collective action ahead of the 2027 polls.

The reception ceremony that marked Kwankwaso's entry into the ADC was attended by several notable national figures, including ADC National Chairman Senator David Mark and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Other dignitaries who graced the occasion included former APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, former Speaker of the House of Representatives Aminu Tambuwal, and former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, among others.

Kwankwaso's message at the event highlighted the importance of unity and political engagement as Nigeria approaches the 2027 elections, signaling a renewed drive for opposition mobilization ahead of the polls.

Recently, Kwankwaso announced his resignation from the NNPP, citing the need for a strategic realignment in response to the evolving political landscape in the country, and he has expressed appreciation to the party's leadership and members for their support during his time in the NNPP.

Kwankwaso specifically thanked the National Chairman, Ajuji Ahmed, and the entire National Working Committee for their steadfast support throughout his time in the party.

The former Kano State governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the NNPP has officially joined the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and registered as a member, receiving his party card on Monday at Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Bompai, Kano.

The event that marked Kwankwaso's registration with the ADC drew several prominent political figures, including David Mark, Aminu Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, Dino Melaye, and John Odigie-Oyegun, among others.
