Spearheaded by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Kwankwasiyya Movement has issued a nationwide directive to its members, instructing them to register with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in anticipation of their leader's impending defection to the party.
This development comes as the movement's leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has finalized plans to join the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to a statement released on Saturday by the movement's spokesperson, Dr Habibu Sale Mohammed.
The statement, which serves as a formal announcement, reveals that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has completed all necessary arrangements to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and this decision has been communicated to all members across Nigeria and the general public.
Dr Habibu Sale Mohammed disclosed that Senator Kwankwaso's formal registration with the ADC is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 12 noon, at his residence, Gidan Kwankwasiyya, located on Miller Road, Kano.
In light of this, the Kwankwasiyya Movement has directed its members to register with the ADC in their respective wards, local government areas, and states, effective immediately, and to actively participate in party activities.
The movement has encouraged its members to fully engage in all party activities, contributing to the growth, development, and success of the ADC at all levels, in order to advance democratic values and good governance.
This strategic decision, the movement emphasizes, is in the best interest of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, the state, and the nation, reflecting their commitment to upholding democratic principles and the collective aspirations of the people.
The movement has reiterated the importance of protecting democracy and respecting the will of the people, underscoring the need for their collective efforts to achieve this goal.
