Kwankwaso quits NNPP, citing a shift in party strategy

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former Governor of Kano State and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, has stepped down from the party with immediate effect, citing a need for "strategic realignment" in response to the country's evolving political landscape.

In a statement, Kwankwaso announced his decision, describing it as a difficult one to make, and expressed his intention to align with another political platform that offers a better opportunity to drive national change.

Kwankwaso, who served as the party's National Leader and presidential flagbearer in the 2023 general elections, stated that his resignation was necessary to identify with another platform that can effectively bring about change in the nation.

He expressed gratitude to the party's leadership, including National Chairman Ajuji Ahmed and the National Working Committee, for their support during his time in the NNPP.

Kwankwaso also thanked other organs of the party, including the Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee, as well as members at all levels and supporters of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, for their dedication and commitment to their shared mission.

Despite his resignation, Kwankwaso indicated his willingness to continue collaborating with party members to work towards national development and a more prosperous future for the nation.
