Kidnapping Foiled: Amotekun Saves Five People, Including Three Medical Staff, in Ondo

In a daring overnight operation, the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, successfully rescued five individuals in the Akure South Local Government Area of the state.

This rescue mission was in response to two separate incidents, one of which occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, when staff on night duty at the health centre in Oke-Ijebu, Akure metropolis, were taken by force.

The attackers, who arrived at the facility in a large bus, gained entry and abducted the health workers, prompting a swift response from the Amotekun Corps.

According to Mr Adetunji Adeleye, Amotekun Corps Commander, the rescue operation resulted in the safe return of three health workers and two other individuals.

A 45-year-old man and his 15-year-old son, who were abducted at Pelebe on the outskirts of Oda Akure Road between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., were rescued by the Rapid Response Squad of Amotekun Corps at about 1:00 a.m. following a intense confrontation with the kidnappers.

The three abducted health workers were also freed at around 4:30 a.m. and are currently receiving medical attention at the Amotekun health facility.

Adeleye reaffirmed the state government's commitment to prioritizing the safety of lives and property, underscoring the importance of this mission.
