Kebbi Federal Legislator Abandons People's Democratic Party to Join All Progressives Congress

Ibrahim Mohammed, the House of Representatives member for Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo and Bunza Federal Constituency, has submitted his formal resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the party's ongoing leadership crises and internal conflicts as the reason for his departure.

The lawmaker's decision to leave the PDP was announced in a statement, in which he highlighted the party's unresolved leadership challenges and prolonged litigations as major factors that have undermined its credibility as a political platform.

Mohammed, who is the son of former PDP national chairman Bello Haliru, expressed his concern that the situation within the party has hindered the ability of dedicated members to contribute to its growth and fulfill their democratic responsibilities.

Following extensive consultations with his constituents and key stakeholders, Mohammed has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a decision he believes is in the best interest of the people he represents.

According to Mohammed, his move to the APC will enable him to provide more effective representation, and he has already taken the necessary steps to formalize his defection by submitting his resignation letter to the PDP Ward Chairman in Nasarawa 1 Ward.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives has also been formally notified of Mohammed's decision to join the APC, marking the completion of his transition from the PDP to the APC.
