Kano State Governor Yusuf Fires Top Bureaucrat

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has taken decisive action by relieving Alhaji Abdullahi Musa of his duties as Head of Service, effective immediately, as announced through his spokesperson Sunusi Bature.

This move is part of a broader strategy by the current administration to revamp the state's civil service, aiming to enhance efficiency, discipline, and overall service delivery across government institutions.

As a result of this decision, Governor Yusuf has instructed Musa to transfer the responsibilities of his office to Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary of Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, by Wednesday.

Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota will serve in an acting capacity until a permanent Head of Service is appointed, as directed by the Governor.

The Governor has expressed gratitude to the outgoing Head of Service, acknowledging his dedication and contributions to the service of Kano State during his tenure.

A statement from the Governor's office wished Alhaji Abdullahi Musa success in his future endeavors and prayed for his continued prosperity in all aspects of life.

The announcement reiterated that the handover of office affairs from the outgoing Head of Service to the acting Head of Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, must be completed by Wednesday, 11th March, 2026, at the latest.
