Just In: Electoral Commission Acknowledges Mark's Leadership of ADC Faction
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has revised its official register to acknowledge David Mark, the former Senate President, as the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress, with Rauf Aregbesola, the former governor of Osun State, listed as the party's national secretary.
nThis development is a direct result of the Supreme Court's ruling on Thursday, which had a profound impact on the party's leadership structure.
nAs of 11 pm on Thursday, a review of INEC's website revealed that David Mark was indeed listed as the head of the African Democratic Congress, while Rauf Aregbesola held the position of national secretary.
nOther key positions within the party were also filled, with Dr. Mani Ahmad serving as national treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as national financial secretary, and Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor as national legal adviser, as reflected on INEC's website.
nThe Supreme Court's ruling effectively overturned a previous status quo ante bellum order, thereby resolving the uncertainty surrounding the party's leadership and paving the way for further proceedings at the Federal High Court.
