June 12: Community groups unite to demonstrate against rising crime in Osun
In a bid to voice their concerns over the nation's security situation, a coalition of civil societies in Osun State has embarked on a protest, coinciding with the 33rd anniversary of June 12, with the involvement of groups such as OCSC, Take It Back movement, Coalition Against Insecurity and Bad Governance, and FIWON.
nThe protest kicked off in the Ayetoro area of the state capital, with demonstrators marching through various locations including Igbonna, Olonkoro, Old Garage, Oke-fia, and Olaiya.
nThroughout the procession, participants sang a variety of solidarity songs, conveying their discontent with the prevailing insecurity that plagues the country.
nComrade Kola Ibrahim addressed the gathering at the Igbonna area, revealing that the protest was prompted by the escalating insecurity that has been affecting the nation.
