Judge orders detention of four pupils accused of vandalism, plotting in Ogun

A judicial proceeding unfolded at the Ogun State Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, where four student leaders were remanded in custody on Tuesday, facing allegations of assault and property damage, as reported by James Ogunnaike.

The defendants in question are Hezakiah Adelola, who serves as General Secretary of the Ogun State Chapter of NANS, alongside Kamil Iseoluwa, Ibikunle Idris, and Folorusho Jacob Olugbenga.

They were formally charged with a seven-count indictment, encompassing conspiracy, assault, harassment, and destruction of property, with the court hearing detailing the alleged offenses.

According to the charge, the defendants purportedly engaged in the harassment and assault of Kehinde Tejuosho and Lekan Olubodun on multiple occasions, and were also accused of destroying properties with a value of millions of naira.

The court clerk outlined the charges against the four defendants, which spanned seven counts, including assault, property destruction, and conspiracy, to which all defendants entered a plea of not guilty.

Magistrate M.K. Araba, presiding over the case, set bail at ₦1 million for each defendant, with the stipulation that they be remanded at the Oba Correctional Centre until the bail conditions are met.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for April 13, 2026, at which time the case will be revisited for further proceedings.
