Jos Attack: Senator Natasha Urges Defence Minister to Take Immediate Action

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central on the platform of the PDP, has urged General Christopher Musa, the Minister of Defence, to take swift and decisive action in response to the deadly attack that occurred on March 27 in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, resulting in the loss of over 30 lives, with the majority being Christian worshippers.

The senator's call to action was conveyed through a statement posted on her official social media channels, in which she denounced the killings as a stark reminder of the vulnerability of Nigerians, highlighting the disconnect between the assurances provided by General Musa during his Senate screening and the persistent security breaches.

In her statement, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan addressed General Musa directly, stating, "Dear General Christopher Musa, Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected," and expressed her disappointment at the disparity between his promises and the ongoing security failures.

She recollected that during General Musa's screening at the Senate chambers, his words were replete with promises, which had momentarily alleviated her concerns, as she noted, "your words were filled with promises, and I allowed myself a sigh of relief."

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan issued a stern warning to General Musa, saying, "Well, prove now you are different and secure lives, or step aside," and emphasized that Nigerians have had enough of condolences and excuses, demanding instead action, protection, and tangible results.

Her comments echoed the growing frustration among citizens regarding the recurring attacks on vulnerable communities, thereby intensifying the calls for a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria's security framework.
