JAMB set to announce 2026 UTME threshold scores on May 11

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, or JAMB, has announced that its 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 11, where crucial decisions will be made, including determining the minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 academic session.

This information was revealed in a statement released on Sunday by Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, who outlined the details of the upcoming meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Body of Benchers Auditorium, located at Plot 688, Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi, Abuja, according to Benjamin.

Key policy directions will be unveiled by the Minister of Education, Maruf Olatunji Alausa, during the meeting, which is a critical annual gathering of stakeholders to decide on minimum UTME marks, admission guidelines, and policies for tertiary institutions.

The meeting aims to set the tone for the 2026/2027 admission exercise and emphasize the importance of adhering strictly to stipulated guidelines, as stated by Benjamin.

Attendees at the 2026 meeting will include prominent stakeholders such as vice-chancellors, rectors, provosts, registrars, and their admission officers, as well as regulatory bodies like the National Universities Commission, National Commission for Colleges of Education, and the National Board for Technical Education.

Other attendees will include representatives from various regulatory bodies, highlighting the meeting's comprehensive nature, as noted in the statement.

Goodwill messages are expected from agencies including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund and the National Youth Service Corps, among other stakeholders, adding to the meeting's significance.

The event will also feature the 6th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards, or NATAP-M, which aims to promote compliance with admission guidelines and improve standards in tertiary education, as disclosed by Benjamin.
